Out of favour Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has picked up his second consecutive man of the match award after helping Kaizer Chiefs beat Cape Town City in the Round of 16 of the Telkom Knockout Cup on Saturday.
With both team tied at 1-1 at full time, Akpeyi became the hero when he stopped two spot kicks to hand his team the win and aside that literally kept them in the game with string of impressive saves including three quick saves in less than three minutes.
His overall performance earned him the man of the match award same award he won in the Premier South Africa League (PSL) before the international break. He has also won the fans who criticised him when he was signed and also after his first few games for the club. One even went as far as rating him in same league as Liverpool shot stopper Allison Becker.

After the game fans of the club took to twitter to appreciate the goalkeeper, whose international future is in the dark as he has not been called up to the team since the Super Eagles of Nigeria lost to Algeria in the semi-final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
