Coach of Everton Marco Silva has praised the performance of Nigeria international midfielder Alex Iwobi after his side 2-0 win over West Ham in the English Premier League.
Iwobi started as part of five new players in the starting lineup by Silva and the Nigerian impressed the coach with his performance in the 88th minute that he was on.
Although he could have helped himself to a goal during the game, Silva is pleased with the performance of the former Arsenal man and in his post match conference spoke about the way he excelled playing behind the main striker as opposed to when he was played from the left wing.
The coach said Iwobi played according to instructions which made it easy for the rest of the team to play to their potential and it resulted in the win that ended their run without a win in the league since September.
“The mobility in our offensive organisation was very good, our three players in attack [Walcott, Bernard and Richarlison], and Alex Iwobi understood where the space was and did everything we planned”, Silva said at the post match conference.
“We had a plan, we saw something in the opponent where Theo could be key for us, with Alex behind the striker”.
