Former Liverpool leftback Alberto Moreno says Nigeria international forward Samuel Chukwueze who is now his teammate at Villarreal reminds him of Liverpool star forward Sadio Mane.
Moreno joined Villarreal in the summer on a free transfer from Liverpool but he said he has known about the abilities of Chukwueze before they became teammates at Villarreal.
He pointed out certain similarities in the way the left footed Chukwueze plays to that of Mane, who is viewed by Barcelona star Lionel Messi as the present best player in the world after his whirlwind performance for Liverpool last season.
“Chukwueze is very good. I followed him last year because I had him in the Comunio (football manager) and he gave me many points,” Moreno told AS.
“That’s why I started following him again. He is a super incisive player, fast, you don’t know where he is going to go out, and he is very strong, precise in his play. He has everything.
“He reminds me a lot of Sadio Mane. I have seen them both in training and I can tell you that he reminds me a lot of him.”
Since progressing through the youth ranks at Villarreal, Chukwueze has cemented his place in the first team of the club and also in the senior national team of Nigeria.
