World football governing body FIFA has picked three Nigerian players in the list of players who will likely be the star attraction of the Nigerian team at the U17 World Youth Championship which begins tomorrow.
Nigeria will play their first game against Hungary tomorrow in the first game of the tournament. A game that will officially begin Nigeria’s quest to make up for the disappointment of missing out on the last edition after missing the 2015 event.
Five time champions Nigeria have won two of the last three editions with stars like Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success and Francis Uzoho and more progressing to the senior team while the 2015 set now have Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Nwakali among others.
FIFA have this time around picked three players they expect to make heads turn at the tournament with captain of the Nigerian team Samson Tijani the number one name on the list.
Top striker Wisdom Ubani was also picked in their preview of stars to watch in the Nigerian team alongside his partner Olakunle Olusegun who has surprised many with the way he has been scoring for fun ahead of the start of the tournament.
