The first choice striker of the senior national team of Nigeria Victor Osimhen has suffered what looks like a groin injury while on duty for his French Ligue 1 side Lille, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
His injury will no doubt be of concern to coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria who has played the forward as his first choice striker in the Super Eagles last two friendly games against Ukraine and Brazil respectively.
Osimhen went off injured in the 58th minute as Lille picked up a 2-0 win against Bordeaux. The injury looks like a groin injury which could see him miss the Super Eagles AFCON 2021 Qualifiers games against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively.
Groin injuries usually require a period of two weeks to one month to heal which has put his participation in the games of Nigeria in doubt as he would be returning from injury around the time for the game if it’s confirmed that he indeed suffered a groin injury.
