
The Nigeria U17 team recovered from going behind twice to beat Hungary 4-2 in their opening game of the U17 World Youth Championship taking place in Brazil.
Hungary took the lead as early in the 9th minute but captain of the Nigerian team Samson Tijani restored parity for Nigeria with a goal from the spot only for Hungary to strike again to go into the half time break leading 4-2.
Nigeria started the second half the better team but not until the introduction of wing forward Akinkunmi Amoo did the team started to play with rhythm in attack as they went in search of a leveller.
Their efforts soon pay off when Usman Ibrahim head home a corner kick to bring scores to 2-2. One minute later they took the lead for the first time when right fullback Oluwatimilehin Adeniyi headed home a cross from Ibraheem Jabaar.
Captain of the team Tijani killed off any chance of a late revival by Hungary from a freekick which deflected past the goalkeeper of Hungary to seal a comeback 4-2 win for Nigeria.
