Former Arsenal teen prospect Kelechi Nwakali is not having the best of club career despite his reported move to Spanish second division side Huesca on a free transfer during the summer transfer window.
According to Spanish Journalist Ralphael Sanz who writes a blog on Huesca, Nwakali’s move to Huesca is hanging on the thread despite the fact that the player and the club verbally agreed to the switch. No official announcement has been made by the club but Arsenal announced it on their official website.
As a matter of fact, the 21 year old has not set foot at the club since the deal was agreed and even a routine medical is yet to be carried out on him. The situation however has nothing to do with the player’s abilities as its purely an administrative issue.
” A deal is in place but the paperwork for it to become official is far from done. That’s the reason why Huesca are yet to officially announce his signing. Even his medical is yet to be done, hence he is yet to start training. I doubt if he has been to Spain since his move from Arsenal was confirmed”, Sanz told Owngoalnigeria.com.
The midfielder is part of the U-23 team of Nigeria for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations and Sanz believe he could be heading somewhere else if he impresses at the tournament which starts on the 8th of November in Egypt.
” A good performance at the tournament could cost Huesca his services. Other clubs can make a move for him from what I gathered. I guess the player and his representatives are aware of this and that should spur him on at the Africa U23 Cup of Nations “.
