The camp of the Nigeria U23 team in Egypt is almost full to capacity with only three players missing from the list of 21 players submitted by coach Imama Amapakabo for the tournament, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Presently all but the trio of Josiah Chukwudi, Taiwo Awoniyi and captain of the team Azubuike Okechukwu are in camp with the team and took part in their training session held today under the watchful eyes of coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr.
Awoniyi and Okechukwu are expected in camp as soon as clubs are given breaks for international games with Awoniyi expected to arrive camp before the first game while Okechukwu will miss the game but should be available for the second game.
On loan Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Bright Enobakhare made a good impression on the coaches during today’s session with the forward who is presently at Wigan Athletics using his strength and pace to good effect against the defenders he was up against.
He is battling for a spot in attack for the first game with the quartet of Sunday Faleye, ‎Ndidfreke Effiong, Orji Okwonkwo and Sunusi Ibrahim. The number will swell when Awoniyi join the team ahead of their first game against Ivory Coast.
