Joe Aribo Buzzing Ahead Of First Home Game – I Can’t Wait To Play In Front Of Super Eagles Fans

Rangers of Scotland midfielder Joe Aribo says he can’t wait to play his first home game for the senior national team of Nigeria when they take on Benin Republic on Wednesday in the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers.

Aribo has played twice for the Nigerian team and on each occasion he found the back of the net against Ukraine and Brazil respectively. Both friendly games were however played away from home with the last game against Brazil played in Singapore.

Speaking ahead of his first competitive game for Nigeria which also doubles as his first game at home for the team Aribo says he is not under pressure but he want two things to happen in the game.

” I am not feeling any pressure ahead of the game, I am eager to play in front of our home fans. Nigeria is a football crazy nation. I can’t wait. My wish for the game is a win and also a goal like I did in the last two games”, the midfielder told Owngoalnigeria.com.

On if this is his first visit to Nigeria since he was born abroad, the 23 year old said he visited Nigeria at a very young age with his parents but this is the first time he is visiting the country since he crossed the 18 year old mark.

” As a kid I visited Nigeria with my parents but that was a long time ago. This is the first time I am visiting after turning 18. My connection with Nigeria has always been there and I want to give the fans a lot to cheer about on Wednesday “, he remarked.
