Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen yesterday proved his ability goes beyond putting the ball in the back of the net with an assist for Lille to power them to a 0-1 win away to Lyon in the French Ligue 1.

Osimhen who ended his mini goal drought last weekend to help Lille to a 1-0 win over Dijon turned provider this time around for Jonathan Ikone for what ended as the lone goal of the game.

It means Osimhen now has two assists in the league in addition to the eight goals he has scored so far which took his season goal tally to ten goals in all competitions with two of his other goals coming in the UEFA Champions League.

Already seen as the star of the French Ligue 1 this season he has improved in his first touch with his back to goal and that played a role in the assist he gave Ikone which is not too different from the way he set up Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze for Nigeria in their 4-2 win over Lesotho in the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers.

Already established as the first choice striker of the senior national team of Nigeria he has also won the heart of many teams in Europe who will be willing to price him away in the future from Lille who are expected to demand a premium for the forward they signed for €12m in the summer.
