The ownership tussle surrounding the captain of the Nigeria U17 team Samson Tijani took another twist during the course of the week with six more agents claiming they have mandate to transfer the 17 year old.

As at last month, the number of agents claiming to have mandate to transfer the Collins Edwin FC prospect were five but the number has swelled to eleven and it has further compounded the situation.

Already as many as six clubs have pulled out of the race to sign the midfielder due to the impasse over his true representative. Even the club that is registered as the primary owners of his economic rights are now powerless in the tussle.

It is believed that interest from a highly placed individual in the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) has further fueled the issue as he is leaning towards one party instead of playing the role of a neutral arbiter for a solution to be reached on time.

The boy’s father has also been fingered as part of the reason behind the ownership tussle as he handed out Power of Attorney to around four agents to represent the boy after his exploits at the WAFU B U17 tournament where he was voted the Most Valuable Player ( MVP) of the tournament.
