Dutch youth international forward Joshua Orobosa Zirkzee who scored for Bayern Munich in their 3-1 win over Freiburg yesterday in the German Bundesliga isn’t shy of his Nigerian roots, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

The 18 year old who made his first team debut for the Bavarians in their UEFA Champions League dead rubber last round of game tie against Tottenham Hotspur stole the headline yesterday in his first league game.

Zirkzee scored with his first touch following his introduction in the 90th minute in place of Phillipe Coutinho to put his team 2-1 up before Serge Gnabry who provided the assist for the 18 year old scored the third goal that put the game to rest.

Although he has represented the Netherlands from U15 to U19, he is still proud of his Nigerian roots as he placed a flag of the senior national team of Nigeria on his instagram post when he trained with the first team before their UEFA Champions League game against Spurs.

The Netherlands will however not let go off the forward easily as they are still smarting from the pains of losing the duo of William Troost-Ekong and Tyronne Ebuehi to Nigeria. Nigeria will most likely not give up easily on the forward.

It will no doubt be a drag on who wins his international allegiance particularly if he builds on his goal against Freiburg in the second half of the season which begins after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
