Sweden top flight side Kalmar says it will take disciplinary action against former Nigeria U17 and 20 midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali for failing to show up for pre season training after the Christmas holiday.

Kalmar are back in training preparing for the start of the season but the 23 year old former Manchester City ‎midfielder is yet to resume following a dispute over return ticket from Nigeria, where he spent his holiday.

Coach of Kalmar Jorgen Petersson said the club turned down a request from Nwakali to buy him an air ticket in order for him to return from Nigeria, something which the club refused. The coach termed the situation as unhealthy for both parties.

Nwakali the elder brother to former Arsenal teen prospect Kelechi joined the club in January from Polish side Rakow Czestochowa on a four deal but he is yet to make his debut due to injury.

He was a part of the Nigeria U17 team that won the 2013 U-17 World Youth Championship with the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success, Taiwo Awoniyi among others.
