21 year old Anglo-Nigerian forward Josh Maja is the real threat to Victor Osimhen in the mind of coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr according to sources close to the coach, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Maja who plays for Rohr’s hometown club Bordeaux has found the back of the net seven times this season with five coming in the Ligue 1 while the remaining goals were scored in the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.
Rohr who handed Maja his first cap for the senior national team of Nigeria in the 2-2 friendly draw against Ukraine rates the former Sunderland forward highly and has already made it known to his assistants that he is the closest thing to Osimhen.
Blessed with pace and an eye for goal, he will no doubt make the Super Eagles list for their games in March if he maintains his current form with Rohr keen on providing competition for Osimhen as Paul Onuachu has failed to sufficiently challenge him.
