Partizan Belgrade Acquires Full Ownership Of Sadiq Umar From Roma As €12m Move To Napoli Draws Near

Serbian side Partizan Beograd have completed the signing of former Nigeria U23 forward Sadiq Umar from Roma for a fee in the region of €1.7m, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The fee means he will cost the Serbian side €2.5m in total after they fork out €1.40m to loan him for a season. The deal will become official on the 30th of June 2020 immediately after the expiration of his loan deal.

Presently the top scorer for the club with 16 goals in all competitions, he also has 12 assists this season making him the top goal provider for the team in the 30 games he has played in all competitions this season.

Partizan trigger the option of making his deal permanent two days ago and they will pay the fee in three different installments with Roma also having a ten percent share in his sale in the future.

The owning of his full economic rights is coming at a time when he has been heavily linked with a €12m move to Serie A side Napoli who were keen on recruiting him in January but will now shelve the plans till the summer.

French Ligue 1 side Nice also failed with a bid for the lanky forward whose former coach Rudi Garcia tried to recruit for his present club Lyon but Partizan refused to sell and Sadiq is keen on a return to Italy where his wife stays.
