Coach of Lille Christian Galtier says Nigeria international forward Victor Osimhen need to be a bit selfish in the box as the top striker of the French Ligue 1 side.
Osimhen has 14 goals and 4 assists in all competitions this season in what is his first season at the French side following his transfer from Belgium side Charleroi, where he spent a season on loan from Wolfsburg.
Galtier spoke with Osimhen after the Coupe de France game against Lyon and admonished the forward to play for himself more in the box and take responsibility as the top striker and not look for a pass.
Although the coach recognizes the fact that Nigerian love to play for the team but at the same time he views him as their most viable option of getting goals hence his call for him to shoot more and pass less while in the box.
21 year old Osimhen is heavily linked with a move from the team in January but Lille has told his representatives that he won’t be leaving the club this January despite interest from teams around Europe.
