Former Nigeria U17 World Cup winner Lukman Zakari has finally gotten the all clear to start his career with Laliga side Real Betis after receiving his work permit last week, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Zakari is returned to Spain last week after a successful work permit application which was processed in Nigeria. It has brought an end to the defender’s idle nature for the past six months since his loan move in the summer from Latvian side FS Metta.
He will spend a season with the B team of the Laliga side form where his performance will be monitored for possible promotion to the first team before a decision will be made on giving him a permanent deal.
” Zakari is clear to make his debut and hopefully in the coming days he will play for the B team. He just returned to Spain and has resumed training to build up his fitness. No one is in doubt of his ability but he has to work to earn a permanent deal at Betis”, a source close to the player told Owngoalnigeria.com.
