Former captain of the Nigeria U20 team Ikouwem Utin will not be joining Hapoel Hadera on loan from Maccabi Haifa after talks over the loan deal broke down with both clubs failing to reach an agreement on his wages.
Utin has found it hard to get games at the club and a loan move to Hapoel Hadera where he is sure of getting sufficient games is to aid his development was agreed but both teams couldn’t reach an agreement on the payment of his wages.
Maccabi Haifa want Hapoel Hadera to pay the entirety of his wage for the next six months but Hadera who are not as big as Maccabi want to pay only a fraction of the salary base on their financial strength.
Both teams failed to reach a compromise and the deal has been called off with Utin now left in the cold as he has only played just four games in all competitions since his move to the Israeli side from Enyimba.
There is still a chance that he could yet leave on loan but for now he has to return to Maccabi Haifa and push for a spot to get his career in Europe underway as he failed to match the height he attained while at Enyimba during the first half of the season.
