Not many Nigerian coaches have taken their trade abroad in recent times particularly those who have not managed in the Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) or with any arm of the national team.

One man is however flipping the script in Sudan with his exploits with modest side Al Hilal Alfashir Sinnar in what is his sixth year in the Sudanese top flight and twelve years overall coaching in the country, where it’s generally hard for foreign African coaches to survive.

“I have been fortunate that results have worked out for me. Kudos to my players and the management team I have. Coaching here in Sudan is a bit harder due to the financial muscle of the big two Al Hilal and Al Merreikh but we keeping doing our best to make an impression’, Azeez told Owngoalnigeria.com.

The former Ranchers Bees player who has surprisingly taken Hilal Al-Fasher to 9th on the log standing is however opened to the idea of coming home to handle a team in the NPFL for the right contract and terms of conditions.

” No place like home is a popular statement and some day I wish to manage a team in the NPFL but the terms and contract need to be one that I am comfortable with. I have played in the league and I won’t mind coaching in it”.
