
Nantes of France forward Moses Simon has jokingly taunted Lille forward Victor Osimhen that he is eyeing his spot in the senior national team of Nigeria after scoring in three consecutive games in Ligue 1.
On loan from Laliga side Levante, Simon has scored in his last three Ligue 1 games against Rennes, PSG and Dijon respectively. The run of goals extend his tally for the season to nine goals in all competitions, beside that he also boast of eight assists in all competitions.
Explaining the reason behind his recent run of form in front of goal, the 24 year old in an exclusive chat with Owngoalnigeria.com said it’s down to a new position he now plays in attack as opposed to when he was operating from the wings.
” I now play as a striker. Maybe Osimhen should be scared of his position”, Simon Joked before further explaining the formation at Nantes that has helped him discover his rhythm in front of goal this season.
” Generally we are set up to hit team on the break and I play off the last defender as it enables me to use my speed to good effect. I am presently enjoying the role better than I thought when I was asked to play it”, he concluded.
