
Partizan Belgrade forward Sadiq Umar says he is not worried over his chances of getting a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria as long as he keeps doing well.
23 year old Sadiq who was top scorer for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics has found his rhythm back in Serbia with 16 goals and 13 assists to his name in all competitions this season. A form that has already made the Serbian exercise the option of signing him permanently.
A move away in the summer has been mooted and it’s clear that it will enhanced his chances of making the senior national team of Nigeria but the striker who is linked with teams with Spain, France and Italy insist he is happy and hope to continue doing well for his present team.
” I am doing well here and that’s my biggest joy. The thought of leaving was all up in my head in January but I decided against it to continue my development here in Serbia, where Partizan has given me a new lease of life”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” The coach of the senior national team of Nigeria know about me. In the past I have spoken with his assistants and once with him. No point worrying over a cal up because it will come if I don’t stop doing well for my team”, he concluded.
