Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen is yet to commit himself to a move to Manchester United following rumours of interest in his services from the English Premier League side.
Osimhen has taken the Ligue 1 by storm in his first season at the club with 17 goals to his name in all competitions. A tally which includes two goals in the UEFA Champions League, 13 in the French Ligue 1 and two more in the French Cup.
According to the Daily Mail, coach of Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made the signing of Osimhen his priority in the summer and he is willing to sanction a fee of around 40 million pounds for his signing from Lille.
Despite the desire of Osimhen to move to the English Premier League, his desire is to follow in the footsteps of his idol Didier Drogba by playing for Chelsea and not Manchester United. Hence he is yet to commit to a move.
Chelsea according to several reports made checks on the 21 year old but decided against a move for him in the January transfer window despite his goal against them in the UEFA Champions League. So far he has not been linked with a move to the team as the summer transfer window approaches.
The French Ligue 1 like several leagues in the world has been suspended following the Coronavirus pandemic. There is a huge chance of the forward increasing his goal tally if the league resumes although that looks unlikely for now.
