Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria says there’s no substance in the story linking him with a return to the helm as coach of the national team of Gabon following delays in talks over extending his contract with Nigeria.
The contract of the coach will expire in three months time and talks over an extension has suffered several set backs, the recent was caused by the suspension of international games due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.
Although the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) through it president Amaju Pinnick has made it clear that the coach will be handed an extension but the terms will be a lot different from what he is on at the moment.
In denying the report, the coach said the present coach of the national team of Gabon Patrice Neveu is his personal friend and for now his emphasis is on staying with Nigeria. He also said for the time being he is focused on staying safe alongside his players following the outbreak of Coronavirus.
Rohr said he believe talks about an extension will begin when the Covid -19 issue is no longer a threat. He is hopeful that none of his players will fall prey to the virus as most of them are based in countries where the virus has wrecked lot of havoc in recent times.
