Coach of the Super Eagles of Gernot Rohr Nigeria has been advised to shun his pursuit of QPR midfielder Ebere Eze by a source close to the coach of the agent of the player, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Eze met with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) last year and had talks over a switch to Nigeria few months after he became tied to England when he featured for their U21’s in a competitive game.
Prior to his competitive bow for the youth team of England he was approached by a member of the backroom staff of Rohr according to our source and that he used to gain the attention of the youth team selectors of England.
” The first contact Nigeria made was leaked to the English youth team set up by his agent hence the reason why he was capped in that game. The boy and his agent are playing games with Nigeria. He is using interest from Nigeria to get the attention of England “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Speaking further he said three years ago while he Eze was still trying to make his mark at QPR he was eager to play for Nigeria to aid his club career but now after another stellar season with QPR before the suspension of the league, he fancies his chances with England more.
” When he trained with the Super Eagles in London, he was keen on playing for Nigeria for the sake of his career but that was three years ago and from that time to now a lot has happened. He now sees himself as someone who will play for England sooner than later particularly as he is close to a move to a Premier League club”.
