Nigeria international winger Moses Simon has turned down a big money move to join the Chinese Super League (CSL) following a 12 million euros bid from an unnamed Chinese side, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Simon who has nine goals and nine assists this season at Nantes where he is on loan from Levante has caught the eyes of several teams in Europe and Nantes have already exercised the option of signing him permanently in the summer.
He will join Nantes on a permanent transfer for a fee of €5m but he is expected to be shipped out almost immediately with as many as four teams battling for his signature. However it’s only an unnamed Chinese side that have slapped in a bid officially.
The Chinese team offered Nantes 12 million euros for his signing and propose to pay Simon $200,000 a week as salary but the 24 year old turned down the offer as he still want to remain in Europe to be close to his family.
His dream of a big money move could yet come through this summer with Hertha Berlin, Rennes and Lyon also interested in signing him from Nantes when he officially becomes a player of the Ligue 1 side.
