Arsenal legend Ian Wright says Nigeria international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is up there with Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey in the ratings of top defensive midfielders in the world right now.
Wright made this known in a Premier League program while speaking on Ndidi’s tremendous season with Leicester City. Ndidi once again had a very good season and was honored with the title of Leicester City most consistent player in the season that has been paused due to the coronavirus crisis.
” He is up there with Partey. Young, energetic, quick and very assured in tackles. I think this season more than any other he has thrived in the formation of Brendan Rodgers. His transformation has been phenomenal and he has been consistent for the three seasons “, Wright said in the interview monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com.
However while Partey is linked with a move to either Arsenal or Manchester United this summer after refusing to extend his contract at Atletico Madrid, Ndidi has once again reiterated his desire to remain at Leicester City shooting down rumours of a potential exit from the team.
Tied to Leicester City till the summer of 2024, the £15million signing from Belgium side Genk in 2017 said he is keen on continuing his progress with the Foxes.
“We are doing well and I am enjoying myself here. I still have a contract with Leicester,’ Ndidi told ESPN
‘I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I am doing okay here so no need to go anywhere.’
