Few weeks ago out of favour Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye ‎lifted the lid on his suprise exclusion from the squad of the Super Eagles for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Ideye who was back then viewed as one of the favourites of coach Stephen Keshi was pivotal in helping the team win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations but was dropped for the World Cup.

Speaking on Keshi’s decision to drop him, Ideye said it all stemmed from his decision to fire his agent who was standing against his dream of playing in the Premier League ‎when West Bromwich Albion were interested in his services.

According to Ideye his former agent boasted to him that he won’t make the team to the World Cup over his decision to replace him. So he wasn’t by any means surprise when he was omitted from the squad although he felt disappointed.

“At that point, I was not really worried because I already heard the rumor that my agent told Keshi to drop me from the team.

“At that point, I sacked my agent because he was one trying to stop me from moving to West Bromich, so I have to fire him and get a UK agent who made the move successfully and he was upset about it and I guess that was why he did what he did,” he told brila.net.

“I was a bit down, but as soon I signed the deal with West Brom, I was kind of relieved and forgot everything about the world cup and was more focused on getting myself ready for the season.” he concluded.

Inside sources privy to the breakdown in his relationship with Keshi over his decision to part ways with his agent have now revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com what truly happened that led to his axing from the World Cup 2014 squad.

“I’m probably going to be roasted by a few for leaking this and no doubt i’ll make some extra enemies but as usual i don’t mind some roasting/ hating. Its parts and parcel of the job”, the source revealed.

“Ideye’s issue stems from a fallout with his agent a gentleman who is Keshi’s right hand man. He was also the agent and economic rights owner of the following players back then: Gbolahan Salami, Christian Obiozor, Kunle Odunlami, Christian Pygbara and I believe but not 100% sure Christian Osaguona also. He is the agent that initially took Ideye to Kiev.

“Ideye sacked him when the move to West Brom was hotting up and whopping $200,000 that he was supposed to receive from Dynamo Kiev went to Ideye instead leaving him with a big hole in his pocket, bank account and his heart. Ideye was made to face the consequences.

Remember prior to then Ideye could do no wrong? No matter what he does he must get shirt? This is the truth, hand on heart, nothing but the truth”, he rounded up.
