Al Hilal Alfashir of Sudan Nigerian coach Azeez Muhammed is among the list of coaches who have applied to be considered for the vacant position of national team coach at various youth levels.
Inside sources in the NFF revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com that the coach who has been coaching in the Sudanese division for six years with high degree of success with modest side has impressed the football body with his performance.
The former Ranchers Bees player who has surprisingly taken unfancied side Hilal Al-Fasher to 9th on the log is also a target of several teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) after indicating his willingness to return home.
” There’s a coach from Sudan we are looking at, he has done really well for himself as he is very popular and well respected in Sudan. I can tell you he is among the favourites for a national team job because he has all the criteria and also experience needed “, a source at the NFF told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” We are however still in the process and once it’s done we will announce the coaches. For now we have done our internal screening and forward the name to the private body that will conduct the interview for coaches shortlisted before we announce the head coach”, he revealed.
