Former U17 World Cup best goalkeeper Dele Alampasu says his ambition of becoming the first choice goalkeeper of the senior national team of Nigeria is still very much alive despite his non involvement in the team for a while.

Alampasu has trained with the Super Eagles severally since his exploits with the Nigeria U17 team but his form at club level hasn’t helped his case of establishing himself as part of the team. Something he feels he will change in the future.

” I don’t let go of my dreams easily. I still believe that I will one day become the first choice goalkeeper of the Super Eagles. I have trained with the team severally and the present coach know what I can offer, so it’s just a matter of time”, Alampasu told Owngoalnigeria.com.

23 year old Alampasu endured a torrid 18 months without any competitive football but he said that phase is now behind him after joining Latvian side Ventspils, where he hope to relaunch his career after a not too good time in Portugal with CD Feirense.

” The idea is to get my form back at club level and that will no doubt but me in the frame for a return to the senior national team of Nigeria. I have witnessed a lot of setbacks in my career and that has made me stronger. I will be back in the Super Eagles soon”, he concluded.
