Kelechi Iheanacho is the perfect replacement for Odion Ighalo in the attack of the senior national team of Nigeria according to Nigerian agent Hakeem Adebayo.
Adebayo in an exclusive chat with Owngoalnigeria.com said the Leicester City forward is much similar to Ighalo in terms of potency in front of goal than Victor Osimhen who he admit is more of an all round kind of player.
” Ighalo’s goal have been pivotal to Nigeria since after the 2018 World Cup in Russia. What he adds to the team is goals and that Iheanacho can guarantee as well. We all know how deadly he is in the box. So if you want to replace goals, it’s best to use goals”, he said.
” With all due respect Osimhen is a better all round player who scores as well but he is not as clinical like Iheanacho. Osimhen can play from either flanks but the problem is that Nigeria is well stocked in those areas. Even if you play a two man attack it’s better to have Iheanacho as the lead striker “, he concluded.
Both players were in fine form for their respective teams before the league was halted due to the coronavirus crisis with Iheanacho returning to almost the same form that once made him one of the most dreaded youngsters in English football months before the halting of games.
Osimhen hasn’t slowed down on the form that made Lille splash heavily to sign him from Charleroi in the summer. So far he has scored a total of 18 goals from 38 games in all competitions with six assists as well.
