With rumours of a monster package worth 83 million euros for Lille and Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen, it appears he won’t last beyond this summer transfer window.
Osimhen who scored a total of 18 goals from 36 games in all competitions before the French Ligue 1 was brought to a halt due to the Covid -19 outbreak has emerged as one of the hottest property in French football this season.
Signed for a modest fee of 12 million euros last summer from Belgium side Charleroi, Lille will no doubt jump at the chance of making a fortune from the Nigerian, one year after his capture.
So far he has been seriously linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool but there is no confirmation if the bid came from any of the above mentioned team or from a team like Napoli who were reported to be preparing an offer of around 63 million euros for the 21 year old.
Like many will say his next move could determine the rest of his career but for the Nigerian spending another season at Lille to consolidate on the success he enjoyed this time won’t be a bad idea just like moving to a top team won’t be out of place. One thing is certain, he has the talent to thrive anywhere he end up going to.
