A top source in the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) has revealed that the football body with support from coach Gernot Rohr is closing in on an established star in the English Premier League to switch allegiance to the Super Eagles.
According to the source positive talks were held with the player during the recent visit of coach Gernot Rohr to England and the player has given the go ahead for start of the process of switching allegiance to Nigeria.
When contacted coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr refused to deny or confirm the news instead said they are in the lookout for the best players to represent Nigeria.
“I can’t tell you exactly who we are speaking with now because I don’t like to talk about these things publicly but we are keen on having only the best player play for Nigeria “, the coach told Owngoalnigeria.com.
