Former Nigeria U17, U20 and U23 captain Kelechi Nwakali is inching closer to his first appearance for Spanish second division side Huesca as clubs in Spain get set to return to football after the lockdown.

The League in Spain will resume on the 8th of next month and ahead of resumption, group training has already started with Nwakali sighted in one of the trainings of Huesca who are eyeing promotion to the Laliga next season.

Since joining Huesca last summer, the soon to be 22 year old is yet to play for the team due to visa and later registration issues following his free transfer from English Premier League side Arsenal, where he spent three seasons and had four different loan spell during his time at the club.

Failure to properly assert himself at the B team of FC Porto hastened the decision by Arsenal to decide on cutting him loose although they still hold a buy back clause and also a percentage of his future transfer.

His aim will be to help Huesca return to the Spanish top flight a year after they were relegated. They are presently in the promotion play off spot as they are placed 4th on the log standing six points behind leaders Cadiz and five points behind ‎Real Zaragoza who are occupying the final slot for automatic promotion.
