President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick says he won’t be seeking re election to continue when his present tenure expires in 2022.
Pinnick was successful in his bid to be elected for another tenure but despite the fact that there is no tenure limit for the position of president of the football house, Pinnick has confirmed that he won’t stay beyond 2022.
“I will not return again when my tenure ends in 2022. Quote me anywhere”, he said in a zoom interaction session with journalist organised by Colin Udoh.
He went on further to explain that going by the recent exchange rate . It will cost the NFF as much as 300 million Naira to host games in Nigeria as they get set to take part in the qualifiers for the 2021 AFCON and also 2022 World Cup.
For that reason the NFF will hold talks with governors willing to host the team as it will help the football house offset the huge bill brought about by the current exchange rate of the dollar to the Nigerian currency.
