Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Odion Ighalo was given a new contract at Machester United so that he can finish what he started with the club before football was suspended.
Manchester United confirmed that the Nigerian will stay at the club until January 31st, 2021 after his initial contract was due to expire on the 31st of May 2020.
Solskjaer said “Shanghai Shenhua have been great towards us, allowing him to play for his dream club. It’s been a dream for him and hopefully he can finish what he started with us and win trophies”.
Ighalo has scored four goals from eight matches so far and that includes at least a goal in each of his last three starts – against Club Brugge, Derby County (2) and LASK.
The 30-year old will be hoping to excite Manchester United faithfuls when the English Premier League resumes on the 17 of June and the FA Cup quarterfinals on the weekend of June 27 and 28.
