Former coach of the Nigeria U20 team Paul Aigbogun has teamed up with Spanish 3rd division side Marbella for a short spell, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.

The spell is one among the series of coaching time he has spent with teams in Europe after his engagement with the Nigeria U20 team ended last year. He is in the running to retain his job.

He was billed to team up with relegated La Liga side Leganes before the coronavirus pandemic happened. Prior to joining Marbella he also worked with English side Chester as one of the coaches.

So far he has visited Watford, Sheffield Wednesday, Crystal Palace and Manchester City as he bid to stay in tune with modern demands of coaching.

London based Aigbogun handled the Nigerian U20 team of 2019 leading them to the first knock out round of the competition where they were beaten by Senegal.

That same year he took another batch of Nigeria U20 team to the All Africa Games in Morocco leading them to a sliver medal finish even though they were up against the U23 teams of other nations.
