Former captain of the U20 team of Germany Kevin Akpoguma has finally decided to represent the senior national team of Nigeria, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Akpoguma has already started the switch of allegiance process and if concluded on time he will be a part of the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming friendly games in Austria next month against Côte d’Ivoire and Tunisia respectively.
Coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr met with the defender in Germany few days ago where final rounds of talks were held and also his preparedness for the game.
Back at Hoffenheim after spending the second half of last season on loan to Hannover 96, he was on from start to finish in their DFB Pokal win over Chemnitzer FC. A game they won 3-2 via penalties after both teams stay stuck at 2-2 after extra time.
Aside Akpoguma, Owngoalnigeria.com also gathered that three other German Nigerian players are close to sealing their switch to Nigeria. From our checks two looks very sure that is the duo of Jordan Torunarigha and Felix Uduokhai.
