French Ligue 1 side have cooled their interest in Vitoria Guimaraes Nigerian midfielder Mikel Agu , Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Agu as reported by this portal agreed terms on a move to the Ligue 1 side with coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr putting in a word for him.
Nantes have a long term interest in him but they are presently stock in midfield and were hoping that some players will leave to create space for the signing of the Nigerian.
The nature of the transfer market this year made it impossible for them to get their valuation of two midfielders they wanted to move on. Hence their decision to shun a move for Agu.
If they are able to move two of their midfielders then they will reignite their interest in the 27 year old. For now their search is on getting a left back and a striker to bolster their attack.
