A top team in the NPFL has beaten other NPL clubs to agree a deal with GBS Academy to sign Nenkate Dembele popularly believed to be the best young talent in the country after watching him score a Hattrick in a friendly match vs a team of selected players from NPFL teams.
It is understood that the reason GBS academy allowed the pacy winger to move on loan despite interest from other teams, is due to the close proximity of the Jos based academy to the said Nigeria Premier League team.
GBS intends to keep close tabs on the development of their priced asset and hence opted to loan him out to a nearby club.
The move is seen as a huge coup as Dembele has been recently linked with a move to Europe, but an unnamed team were able to fend off interest from local rivals Nasarawa united and Enugu Rangers among others to sign him.
Nentake Dembele is now expected to play on loan till he reaches the age of 18 before travelling to Europe to continue his career. He is reportedly going to be amongst the highest paid young players in the Nigerian Professional Football League which is the highest level of the Nigerian football league system.
GBS head of operations Ibrahim Ahmed told this portal that several European clubs who visited Nigeria few months ago to watch him play in a talent discovery tournament in Jos where he stole the show and was crowned the MVP of the tourney have already registered interest in the 17 year old winger and are currently talking with his agents. Ahmed added, He will travel to Europe once he turns 18 years of age.
