Napoli defeated Parma 2-0 to start their Serie A season on a high with their record signing Victor Osimhen making his debut as a substitute.
The 21 year old was introduced in the 60th minute with scores at 0-0 and he wasted no time in making an impact with the way he changed the fortunes of the team in attack.
His introduction sparked the team to life with his pace, link up play and skills proving to hard for Parma to handle leading to goals scored by Dries Mertens and Hirving Lozano.
Although he didn’t get on this scoresheet, Gattuso reckoned that it was his introduction that brought about the win and he was quick to praise him after the game.
“In the 25 days I’ve been working with Osimhen, I can tell he doesn’t forget where he came from, and all the sacrifices he’s made, he lost his family at a young age. He has the head of a 40-year-old on a 21-year-old body, I’m confident that his attitude won’t change”.
