The indifferent season Emmanuel Dennis is enduring at Belgium side Club Brugge took a twist for the worst after the death of his brother in a boat accident in Nigeria.
Popti Emmanuel Dennis is a well known sailor in Nigeria and has even represented Nigeria at the All Africa games and as a member of the Nigerian Navy he does take part in lot of international events.
Things took a different turn last month when his boat capsized for no reason during a tournament for sailors and he was pronounced dead with some reports insinuating that his corpse hasn’t been found yet.
Dennis received the news before their game against Antwerp but still accepted to be named on the bench on Sunday for a league game. He has since departed for Nigeria.
The burial of his brother will take place today and he is expected to return back to Belgium in two days time. This season hasn’t been his best so far.
