Nigeria international defender Jamilu Collins has handed in a transfer request to the management of Bundesliga 2 side Paderborn, Owngoalnigeria.comunderstands.
Collins has a six months left to run on his deal at the club but he is keen on moving in the January transfer window instead of waiting till the summer when he will be free to leave for nothing.
Paderborn turned down offers for the left back following their relegation to the second division in Germany although some sources said they didn’t receive any offer for the 26 year old.
His desire to leave the team is partly the reason why he has only played 8 games this season out of a possible 14 games. He is expected to miss today’s game against Fortuna Düsseldorf for same reason.
The camp of the player expect Paderborn to be considerate and grant him his desire to leave the team as he is free to sign pre contract with interested teams now before joining for free in the summer.
