FC Twente won’t be taking up the option of signing Tyronne Ebuehi permanently when his loan deal expires at the end of the season.

The 25 year old Nigeria international is on loan to the Dutch side from Portuguese outfit Benfica but despite his impressive performance the fee involves and salary has made it impossible for Twente to sign him permanently.

According to Technical director of the team Jan Streuer, a permanent deal for the Nigerian will take a hit on the club’s budget for the season as he commands a high pay outside the transfer fee that will make the deal happen.

We are not only dealing with a transfer fee, but also with the player’s salary. We still have to talk to Ebuehi, ‘says Streuer

The director’s statement means for now the right full back who has made 29 appearances this season with a goal and assist to his name will return to his parent owners Benfica.

He will be hoping for better luck at the team he joined in 2018 but suffered a long term injury that kept him out for 18 months before he finally gained his fitness and head to Twente last summer.
