Coach of Nantes Antoine Kambouare says their chances of survival rest partially on the shoulder of Nigeria international Moses Simon after his goal and assist in their 4-1 win over Brest yesterday.
Simon scored the first for his 6th league goal of the season and created the third for Imran Louza for his third assists this season as Nantes continue their push to keep their top flight status.
This season the Nigerian has played in 30 games despite missing one month due to a harmstring injury and with the team changing as many as three coaches this season his spot in the starting lineup hasn’t been threatened.
Last season he was voted their player of the year and made the shortlist for the best eleven players of the club the past ten years after scoring nine goals with nine assists in all competitions.
Unlike last time out, their aim this season is to keep their top flight status and Kambouare sees the Nigerian as one of their most important player going into the remaining three games of the season.
“ I know all about him before coming here. He is a very dedicated player and when he is at his level, It makes us a better team because he defends, create and score goals. He can be very useful as we maintain our push to stay in this league”, the coach said.
