Simy Nwankwo Will Remain In Serie A – Sporting Director Of Relegated Crotone Reveals

The sporting director of relegated Serie A side Crotone says Nigerian forward Simy Nwankwo who has scored 19 goals this season won’t go down with the team to the Italian second division.

Crotone were last weekend confirmed relegated to the second division but the soon to be 29 year old who has been by far their lone shinning star this season has been tipped to remain in the top division.

Reports has it that several teams in the Serie A are keen on securing his service with Crotone open to allowing the lanky forward who will have a year to run on his deal at the end of the season the chance to leave.

Sporting director Giuseppe Ursino confirmed he will he staying in the Serie A hinting at the club accepting an offer for the forward who is rated around the €8 million mark by the team.

He has grown a lot over the years, this year out of the ordinary. He can easily stay in Serie A, in a medium-high range. He seems awkward but it’s not like that, he’s right when he says he is made that way but he puts the ball in the net. He’s very intelligent and never gets depressed.

“He’s there on the bench but he always wants to get to the top: I’ve seen him over the years, from the first minute of Crotone he had certain ambitions and for me he will succeed “, Ursino said.
