Europa League winners Villarreal have opened the door for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze to leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window.

Per reports in Spain Manager Unai Emery has given his blessings to the interest of Marseille in signing the 22 years old, following assurances that funds generated from his sale will be reinvested in the squad.

With two years left to run on his deal and talks with over an extension yet to begin, Villarreal don’t want him going into the season with doubts over a new deal.

Their fear is he will likely arm twist the club if he finishes next season and have just a year left on his deal hence their desperation to let go of him in this window.

Last season he scored four goals in 28 games with three assists before injury brought his season to an end and saw him miss the win over Manchester United in the Europa League.
