English Premier League side Newcastle United have made Nantes and Super Eagles winger Moses Simon their prime target in the summer transfer window, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Simon carries a transfer price tag of around £20m pounds which the now rich Newcastle United don’t see as a problem and they are currently locked in talks with Nantes over reaching a deal.
Nantes are open to the idea of letting Simon leave after blocking a January transfer move to Leeds United as they need him to help them finish the season on a high. Leeds United are still keen on signing him in the summer.
It’s now down to both teams but for now Newcastle United offer of £100,000 a week as salary puts them in the driving seat to seal the signing of the 26 year old. The owners of the club have been on his trail for a while.
They tried to sign him for Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia after his first session at Nantes where he was on loan from Levante but Simon decided on signing a permanent deal at Nantes. Same persons are behind the move to sign him in the summer.
The star of Nigeria at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, he has so far scored two goals this session in Ligue 1 with six assists to his name as well from 20 games in all competitions.
