
As Nigeria awaits the public unveiling of the list of players called up to the senior national team of Nigeria for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers game against Sierra Leone, some players have already known their fate.
OwnGoalNigeria.com reported that head coach of the team Jose Peseiro has already submitted his list of invited players to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and they have all received official letters of invitation for the game. Some clubs have already started congratulating their players who will be part of the next international round of games.
The NFF via it’s technical department will make the list public one player who won’t be in the team as per the announcement by his team is Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika. He has been called upĀ once Peseiro.
22 year old Onyedika who played a total of 49 games this season wasn’t listed among the players called up to the national team by Club Brugge on their official website. His only cap for Nigeria came in the 1-2 friendly loss to Algeria.
Sources close to the midfielder who met with Peseiro during his tour of Belgium said he is presently out Injured and his likely return date is the 8th of June and it is probably why he wasn’t called up.
