The hopes of Bayern Munich signing Nigeria U20 defender Benjamin Fredrick has suffered a huge following a rejection of the terms of their proposal to his team Simoiben Football Academy, OwnGoalNigeria.comcan exclusively reveal.
As first reported by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich were among teams that took a look at the Nigeria U20 defender at the U20 World Cup, where he excelled at the heart of defence for the Ladan Bosso led team.
They followed it up with a proposal, which will see the 18 year old join them on a one year deal with the option of a further year based on his progress with the team. No transfer fee will be paid until after the one year period.
Simoiben Football Academy owned by Mrs Sarah Moses Simon rejected the proposal leaving the space for the quartert of FC Basle, FC Copenhagen, Villarreal and RB Salzburg to battle it out for his signing.
Liverpool and Monaco are yet to follow up their interest with talks but Belgium side Gent and Swedish top division side Malmo have already tested the waters but their offer fall below the asking price of the defender, who was rated as the sixth best player at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
