English Championship side Leeds United are making progress in their bid to freshen their squad for the task of gaining promotion back to the English Premier League, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Following relegation from the English Premier League, the idea of their recruitment is to target players from the English Premier League, due to experience as they are faced with the prospect of losing some of their key players before the end of the summer transfer window.

Top among their target is out of favour Nigeria international forward Emmanuel Dennis, who hasn’t found his feet at English Premier League side Nottingham Forest since his move last summer.

Dennis has been told he is surplus to requirements and was left out of their pre season tour to Spain. Clearly paving the way for him to sort his future and his immediate aim is to remain in England, where he was Watford’s top scorer two seasons ago.

Last season he scored just two goals and had three assists. A far cry from his time at Watford where he scored  10 goals with six assists. Forest paid £20m to sign him on the back of that form but it hasn’t worked out, hence the decision to let him leave.
